Decent price on an Oregon Pinot

Good value, some room to improve

For fine wines, yeah, I've found their prices to be pretty good. Especially on some of the more niche stuff or when they have a case discount. Definitely worth comparing for that Barolo.

I usually check them against K&L and Benchmark. Sometimes they beat 'em, sometimes they're about the same. 'Competitive' is a good word for it, they're not usually ripping you off.

Got a corked bottle from another vendor once, total nightmare return. How is Mr D Wine if you get a bad bottle?

Their policy on corked wine is pretty standard, I think. You'd probably need to contact them and they'd arrange a replacement or refund. Haven't had to do it myself with them, luckily.

I heard their corked wine policy is decent. You have to let them know pretty quick though, and they usually ask for the bottle back or a photo. It's not a 'no questions asked' thing, but fair enough.

They're pretty good with shipping across the US. Pretty sure NY is on their list. Check their site for the full list of states though, just to be safe.

How does Mr D Wine compare to Total Wine? Is it worth paying a bit more for Mr D Wine?

Total Wine is more for everyday stuff, big selection but not always the best for rare or high-end. Mr D Wine is definitely more curated, better for specific fine wines or investment bottles. You're paying for that selection and expertise.

It depends on what you're after. Total Wine has better prices on your regular Tuesday night bottles. Mr D Wine is where you go for that special occasion bottle, or if you're collecting. The quality and rarity selection are just on a different level there.

Nah, I've never seen a dedicated new customer discount. It's more about the bulk buys or free shipping deals if you hit a certain amount, or if you're on their email list.
